چکیده

Continuous-flow paper electrophoresis has been used to separate human blood serum and extracts of the formed elements of blood into several frac tions exhibiting lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) activity (1, 2, 4). Fractionation patterns obtained by this procedure have been shown to differ from normal in certain diseases. The pattern differences were not attributable to the appearance of new fractions but to changes in the distribution of the activity among the separable fractions. The present study is a continuation of the in vestigation of electrophoretic fractionation and the interrelationship of;fractions.

Abnormal serum lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme due to complex of lactate dehydrogenase and immunoglobulin G (kappa type).

Abnormal electrophoretic pattern of serum lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme is shown. In this case electrophoretic pattern showed a sharp single band between lactate dehydrogenase 4 and lactate dehydrogenase 5 and broad band between lactate dehydrogenase 2 and lactate dehydrogenase 4. This abnormality was suggested to be caused by the presence of lactate dehydrogenase and immunoglobulin G (kappa ...

Serum lactic acid dehydrogenase isozyme determination in myocardial infarction.

Introduction The principle of electrophoresis is known to be of great use in today's medicine and an expanding literature on this subject supports this view. Various methods for the electrophoretic separation of charged molecules have been developed in the past 15 years. Immunological and physicochemical studies have further increased knowledge of these electrophoretic fractions. On this princi...

Separation of phosphatase isoenzymes by gelfiltration

The demonstration of tissue specific isoenzymes of lactic dehydrogenase and their variations in certain diseases (1, 2, 3) has invigorated the interest for further fractionation of other serum enzymes. Recently FLODIN and KILLANDER (4) have reported on the fractionation of human serum proteins by filtration through porous dextran gel "Sephadex G-200" (4). This method exposes the proteins to ver...

The Staining of Lactic Dehydrogenase Isoenzymes after Electrophoretic Separation on Cellulose Acetate.

Established electrophoretic techniques for the separation of the lactate dehydrogenase (L.D.H.) isoenzymes of tissues and body fluids, although of value in clinical medicine, are too elaborate for most routine laboratories. A simple method for the separation of these isoenzymes on cellulose acetate and their histochemical staining is described. Spectrophotometric estimations of the total L.D.H....

Enzyme fractionation by means of large-scale continuous-flow electrophoresis.

Large-scale, microglass bead, continuous-flow electrophoresis was used to separate and collect protein fractions from a single serum sample. These fractions were assayed for a multiplicity of enzyme activities. Relatively good recovery was obtained with lactic acid dehydrogenase, leucine aminopeptidase, and phosphohexoseisomerase. Artifactually high recoveries were observed with aldotase and is...
